Thanks for putting that together. Yes, I do happen to believe that the quality of the data is all important.

I was impressed with the detail that jasetheace40 put into post 14379207 but after a number of years of being intimately involved in assessing the quality of medical research submissions to a major institution's medical research ethics committee I reckon that I developed a finely tuned bs meter. In retirement I keep it tuned.

So I don't resile from my previous comments, but otoh I am withdrawing from this discussion as I have no skin in the game and prefer not to engage in a continuing points scoring exercise.

Here's an interesting quote from Upton Sinclair: “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” Here's my version:  “It is difficult to get a naysayer to understand something, when his emotional wellbeing depends on his not understanding it.” Intepret it whichever way you wish
