Ever heard of hydro power? Dams.
Some countries use hydro for all their electricity.
Well pumped hydro is a big battery and could store enough power for days or weeks depending how big it is.
So batteries can last for days or weeks and if you need a boost while we transition, a quick natural gas peaking plant will keep the lights on.
Shame we export most of our natural gas, get bugger all royalties for it and pay more to use it locally, as it sets the electricity prices we all endure/
