What is the life of a wind turbine and a solar panel. We are closing down coal fired plant after 50 years service, way beyond when they should have been replaced with more modern high tech replacements.
I am pro green energy production however the amount of coal generated energy (base load) to be replaced in the next few years cannot be replaced with solar and wind power. Look at the system requirements as they are now, We all have good reason to be concerned.
We need to leave our supply requirements to the Engineers and like experts and not to the bean counters and government ministers. OH the greenies are allowed to have and input as well but they must keep the big picture in mind.
It is no good just looking at Canberra what they are doing is great but they do have a massive Snowy supply as their back-up.
We have sold or contracted out our generation plant and equipment, which took generations of investment, for a fraction of their replaced value and the few have milked it to the max. What Taxes did they pay before sending the profits over seas.
We are suckers, now we must pay again.
So many issues because we strayed from the main game. The secure affordable supply of energy.
