There's no reason the share price should have traded at 2.5 cents even though the issue is at 2.5 cents. That's considered a bonus to buy more.
If Apple traded at $80 today and offered the same type of issue at $40, would Apple shares drop to $40? No. It should rise to $100 until after the issue has expired because you are getting a chance to purchase more stock at an additional discount.
The company has been undervalued for some time, and will be for the next while. It's a buying opportunity for anyone willing to take a small risk. I find it insane for anyone with an extra $1000 to not want to purchase a block of shares to see how things go. The price of the stock can easily go up 5 times over the next 6 months.
