Telstra shares soar over Ziggy rumours

Shares in Telstra Corp Ltd jumped on Wednesday afternoon as rumours circulated that chief executive Ziggy Switkowski might be leaving the telco.
A Telstra spokesman said, however, there was no basis to the rumour.
"Nothing has changed here," the spokesman said.
Telstra shares rallied in Wednesday afternoon trade as the rumour swept through the market, closing up 11 cents at $4.83 after trading most of the day around $4.72.
The company's shares were the sixth most-traded stock on the market in volume terms with 38.9 million units changing hands.
