Had a bit of a look at last SPP results. Note info not perfect , and this SPP is a different one than the last .
In 2008 ( from annual report ) KAR had 4754 Shareholders. This was last figure given before discovery at P1 in May 2009.
SPP at $6.70 was for $5k - 746 shares per holder.
They issued 3,514,367 shares under this SPP - assuming full $5k per holder means that 4710 holders took up the full entitlement.
However between P1 discovery & SPP in 2009 , as we all know the price went for a run and many new shareholders joined the party. This is reflected in sept 2009 report which shows some 9000 holders. ( between 27/4/2009 to 10/6/2009 ) when SPP was announced.
The other complicating factor is that the offers will only be sent to Aus /NZ registered address shareholders - not overseas. We don't know how many there are , but from the way Aus instos are lacking in top 20 , will be a few.
my gut feel is to go for the lot, max out the cards.
