Yes, I think that's spot on. While I think short-selling is an unethical and parasitic way to make a living, ADN's fall from 40 to 3 is 95% of its own making. In that 95% I'd include the previous chairman and board members who were complicit in installing Marsh, turning it into a pump factory, skimming millions upon millions of freebie shares for themselves, and likely also feeding the shorting run in 2021.
Blaming the shorters for what is happening now is ridiculous, given that shorts are well below 1% and inching down, not trending up. The current action suggests manipulation. Someone clearly wants the price down and they can do this easily enough, since few are buying until they see the new DFS. For what reason this is taking place (pre-cornerstone buy-in, pre-consolidation, pre-takeover) I know not.
