ASIC has made it clear in their last review that shorts are very valuable to liquidity in the market, so unlikely to change short to medium term whatever our views on it are. A few pollies still pushing the ban agenda but I just don't consider they'll get anywhere. IIRC the pollies got involved after both personal and constituent impact.
