Bots, and their behaviour remain a complete and utter mystery. I don't think anyone has ever come up with a satisfactory explanation. You would need access to broker data and the registry, or the relevant director, in order to see the daily movements.
As for the " 1 share" conspiracy theory, it too is rarely backed up by fact. In most cases ( and from personal experience), it happens when a bot simply adjusts the relevant buy/sell to obtain the price it wants in the match. It's basically just queue jumping. I'm guilty of doing it in the open/ close chook raffles, but, certainly not grubby enough to leave someone with 1 share, it is indeed infuriating. Stick to your guns and sometimes you can beat the bot, sometimes not, it's a matter of watching the live depth to determine if the player is a bot, or human, but, it's a risky game. The bot can instantly adjust its order to achieve its aim, usually by being 1 share out, so, it's not that a bot bought/ sold 1 share, that argument doesn't stack up imo
