your techical knowledge is obviously sufficient to discuss operational matters. However, sponsored data (SD) needs to be presently considered conceptually. I see so far that you're summizing, even though I may not have read enough of your posts to learn your fuller argument, that 5G will eventually be such an improvement across the board that sponsored data will not get much of a showing.
I note that others have responded that improved latency in itself is not a show stopper for SD. I concur. But lets get away from the technical aspects one minute for the sake of argument and consider SYT's more fundamental raison d'être. As we all agree, content is now king. This is a new dynamic that will have new consequences. Such is the world of cause and effect. One result is that present models of monetization are inadequate, just as early nokia phone models were inadequate for concentrated data applications. No need here to respin that developing countries poor average wage earnings to data costs ratio, but we do need to keep them in mind. This issue will only increase with the content explosion upon us. Tieing all this together is that content developers and providers will provide the necessary data. This is the lynchpin of SD. If it doesn't occur, then SD has little future.
But as every CEO acoss the digiverse is saying that SD is the way of the future. But personally, I'm never one for accepting arguments of authority as valid in themselves, as we can always ask, how do they know?
So lets ask it and yes, postulate a little, after all, if we wern't postulating, we wouldn't be at this end of the market. We'd be a blue chip proven concept.
In short, SD will become the future because data is merely the means of content provision, and as a means to deliver a 'necessary' product, it will be provided as the market dictates. Content is booming and content developers and providers need our business. Data, the means of their content delivery is not their end goal. Rather, it is the content. As such, they will provide the means to deliver their end goal. They will do this because the actual data costs are not their revenue source. Their revenue comes from securing viewing customers and the monetization that occurs from mass audience.
More could be said to support SD as a concept, but the gist of it is in the above. I hope it is sufficient for your considertions. If so, then we now need to turn to the tech itself responsible for delivering the data. SYT fits the glove quite well, which I'm sure you'd agree if you've examined what is the CSP etc.
To other readers regarding the share price, it is my view that the forthcoming statement will surprise many and hence give us a good lift. Other news is 'imminent too.' Get 'em cheap while you can.
