@gse1963 - I like to eat humble pie whenever I realise what I've said is wrong.
I understand that a 'sell the spikes' could just as easily be a shorting strategy for someone holding no shares.
As such my statement of "You can't sell the spikes if you don't hold shares" is actually a complete furphy on my behalf
I'm still correct about the improving announcements though
