While ex WMC shareholders have lost out big time on nickel BHP is having to buy uranium on market to sell at the ridculously low contract levels that WMC locked in for the next few years. Maybe it would have been a 10-12 buck stock, but if you'd reinvested in the resources sector on the cash out you'd hardly be crying poor
As for JBM, its a question of time. BHP were reportedly part of the original auction and got thumped, so why come back now, especially as it would add to the complexity of their RIO bid.
