ABARES released their fisheries and aquaculture statistics 2020 last month.
For the first time, aquaculture has taken over as the largest sector of fisheries - now larger than wild caught. It grew 10% to $1.6bn, compared to wild caught declining 12% to $1.58bn.
Interestingly though, the consumption per capital hasn't really budged in 20yrs. So the gains have been shifting from wild caught to aquaculture, from exotics to salmon / prawns / tuna, and population growth.
