I was a little bored and got to thinking about what price FBR should sell the Hadrian X to a third party like CAT for outright. The calculator below can be replicated in Excel if you would like to play with the figures yourself. The figures below assume that 1,000 units would be produced per year with a sale price of $2m per unit, gross margin of 25%, contributing $500m in gross revenue per year over a 10 year period, discounted at rate of 3.5%, generating a NPV for the discounted cashflows of $4.158b. Of course these figures are subjective so the end result may be well off.
