To believe that what has come before is all that we need is a very simplistic attitude.
That is my problem with following the various good books.
Following the preachings of dead people has its place but the reality is that they often come up short when time passes.
Dogma kicks us in the nether regions, constantly. Belief should be thought of as a two edged sword, we want to follow what is right but what was written before doesn’t necessarily translate to what we known now.
