Jobs numbers are irrelevant in the sense that you could create 200000 jobs in the resteraunt industry that are basically worthless as you need 2000000 consumers that will spend the money to justify each job. You could print away and invest in tourism etc but this is again low wage jobs. Think Bali and other tourist economies. The smart thing to have done is invest in upstream development of our natural resources coupled with short term big infrastructure spend to set up easy supply lines for the goods & labour.

Hell, do away with wishy washy greens crap and invest in nuclear energy. Huge upfront but Aus is drowning in uranium,
could set ourselves up for 100 years of cheap energy to fuel production. I honestly don’t know there has to be 100 ways better to spend that money.
