Problem is its not my back paddock and I couldn't pay it back if I stayed farming.....

Leveraged long to basically a single commodity that's the reality of farm debt- plus drought etc.

I'm not brave enough to take on debt here but plenty are. As long as its stress tested its ok I guess.

I nearly did only a few years ago when the dairy industry was crippled no one put in a bid on one beautiful property and it went for less than half of its current value.

I was on the right track at least to think about buying a distressed asset. No fun for the seller.

My finance mate was in double bay for a while- its a long way from rural Victoria.
