Trends always a good place to look; thought I would do a quick check on Finviz future charts & just a quick series of trend arrows Green = up red = down & blue = sideways ..... longer arrow = longer trend. Very quick by eye but always useful I find and they support @cha calls;
Gold: agree re ST direction v unclear and on sidelines for now; realised in last few weeks I was suffering a terrible affliction for anyone into TA "I was LOOKING for it to go higher".
Most still say that it will be much higher over time & I was caught up in that. I for one see nothing in the tea leaves that point much higher med/longer term. Anyone got any reason to justify the "much higher over time" thought?

OIL: I have to admit that (like coal) I have a jaundiced view as to the future of oil ..... having said that I have watched the world miss call the future of oil since the 1980's ... anyone old enough will remember that there were (seemingly logical) calls that the world had reached peak oil and that there was only a decade or so of supply left..... they/we got that slightly wrong.
CANNABIS: has been very interesting since Democrats got in and thoughts that it will boom now "the hippies are in control". Amazingly (to me) one of my normally conservative "investment buddies" has whacked about 10% of his SMSF into 2 pot stocks AGH and CAN. After joking to him mid last week "Wow they are bold plays? You haven't been smoking the product have you???? He just laughed it off and crowed about how much he was making! I notice they tumbled on friday as pot generally got smoked! FWIW here is my pot watchlist:
