Its easy to forget the first premise of technical analysis: Market action discounts everything.
Its already in the chart of whatever I'm trying to buy or sell.
I used to come unstuck on gold stocks by looking too much at the gold price. I'm not buying gold I'm buying an Australian gold stock. Focus on its chart.
Markets change over time too. Money flowing out of US bonds or stocks might end up in developing Asian countries so the old relationships between US bonds/stocks and other historically linked markets may change.
