the cause for australian public's apathy!

I believe its in the Genes.

A bit like the Chinese are seen as passive after years of dynasty/emperor rule compared to other noted violent/volatile cultures.

Australias genes are made of people that moved to Australia to see a better life, or their parents did, or their grandparents did and so-forth including the indigenous.

We have had things easy from a relative peaceful perspective.

When problems arise, unless an absolute, sharp catastrophic event occurs we are inheritently more likely to move on than aim up and face our foes!!

This is why we, and the Aus public are apathetic to issues such as the ones presented to us today IMO.
