    Thanks for demonstrating that you know nothing about the electricity market.

    On days of high demand, it is the shortage of power that drives the price up. And who is benefitting from that shortage and increasing their profits ?
    It's the fossil fuel companies, that's who.

    And why do we have those shortages ? Old coal plants failing in the heat on a regular basis mostly.

    Want more power so that we don't have shortages ? Build more renewables and storage like Snowy 2.0 and the Tassie big battery. Pumped hydro doesn't fail on a hot day like a 40 year old coal station does.

    If power prices are so high and coal fired power is so cheap then why aren't they building coal fired power stations ? Surely they would clean up , wouldn't they ?
