Absolutely! That is why Silicon is the holy grail to replace graphite. It is cheap and readily available and potentially improves the performance over graphite significantly.
Of all the battery advances that could be made to revolutionize batteries, replacing Graphite with Silicon is among the lowest hanging fruit.
Novonix has mentioned they are working on Silicon/ Graphite anodes. But we don’t know any details. Tesla appears to be the most advanced in replacing Graphite
Novonix is in the very early stages of producing a product that the battery industry is working hard to get rid of.
Novonix dry powder technology may be the most significant development and future value potential for the company . Jeff Dahn’s comments were very promising.
the plus side is the management are working hard to stay at the front of industry developments.
