(Psalm 8:3, 4) When I see your heavens, the works of your fingers, The moon and the stars that you have prepared, 4 What is mortal man that you keep him in mind, And a son of man that you take care of him?
The author of Psalm 8 could only comment on what he could see with the naked eye - stars and the moon - which is minuscule compared to the current known universe.
He would have had no appreciation for the size of even of the visible universe with no idea of the distances between even the visible stars.
