Imagine you go out and buy a Mercedes, for X dollars, but the next day, you see someone else was able to buy one, just like yours for X, minus a 24% discount. The two cars are still, essentially worth the same amount - it's just that the other guy had an advantage, and when it comes time to sell his car, he'll be better off financially than you. If you intend hanging on to your car, its value hasn't really changed, and the only risk you face, is if you panic, and go out and sell your Merc, in the hope of being able to get another for the same price the other guy paid. Problem there is, what if the car dealership then says "We haven't got any more available at that price". Then you're screwed....so what I'm essentially saying is, "Are you an investor, in for the long haul, or are you a trader?"
