I agree that things have gone too far the other
way, in some instances, but we can’t have a
return to the bad old days neither. Since the
Albo government was elected we are already
seeing union rumblings, and to be fair some of
people seen going to union meetings on the
news hardly look like they are going for a
cordial discussion.
The argument all comes down to what is fair
pay and conditions. I have worked with some
people who are being overpaid at minimum
wage. I have worked in small businesses for
over 20 years and have seen the challenges
they face too.
I don’t know what people in the health or
education sectors get paid and have no
knowledge of the excesses that may or may not
have existed in those industries. I can only
comment on the positions that I have worked in
and in many there was so much waste something
had to give.
Having worked in retail for the last 20 years, I
found the best places to work , in general, were
small family businesses.
