    in the paid marinas - as long as you pay.


    In free areas - unless in prohibited areas - which are few and far between and in town areas which more often have limits (some are 3 days, some a week, some a month) --

    outside of that - you can stay as long as you like and there's no charge - there isn't even a waterways charge if you don't move -

    the only charges inside the French internal waterways system involve actually moving. - So, if you moved one day only a year - you would only pay for one day. If you cruise all the time - then you pay an annual fee.

    The marinas are in general much cheaper than the UK - and, the Netherlands even cheaper again.
