Since the autumn equinox (September 22) the maximum temperatures were often low for the season, rising at best in the averages. We have to go back to 1998 to find such a period (September 22 -> October 10) cooler in terms of maximum temperature.
The freshness will increase further over the next few days, and last at least until next weekend.
For a good fortnight, we have regularly remained below the seasonal averages in terms of temperature (especially the maximums), with a weather that has often remained disturbed, not very sunny, which is conducive to modest maximum temperatures.
Temperatures 2 ° C below normal since the start of autumn
Since September 22 (the day of the autumn equinox), until October 10, the average maximum temperature in France is 18.2 ° C, i.e. a deficit of 2.0 ° C compared to to the normal corresponding to this period (20.2 ° C). We have to go back to 1998 to find such a cooler period in maximum temperature (18.1 ° C from 22 to 10 October 1998).
The freshness will increase again, without being particularly noticeable for the period, but it should last, we are probably heading towards the coldest first half of October in France since 1992!
