I found Amiens to be fascinating - IMO the Archaeological Garden of Saint-Acheul was worth every bit alone of going to Amiens
Jules Vern House was worth a visit - but, was what I expected that a fantasy science fiction writer would live in.
As to prehistory though - Amiens is a BIG BIG deal and well worth reading about
It was a Sunday when I was there so - it was all free and the park was full of young people - people who are perhaps studying prehistory or are interested in some areas of prehistory - they had all sorts of displays from foods that were eaten, to shelters, tool building - heaps of things - most of them were young, with the odd 30 plus year old.
