Its not necessarily about keeping holdings hidden but rather having holdings in most tax effective structure. For me its in my SMSF. I've been in since 2010, now in top 50 and heading for pension phase so with such a reasonable low cost base any sales will be tax free in my SMSF.
You of course need to seek professional advice that best suits your circumstances.
