Just a theory but maybe this request was made under the FOI act. Which Is very bullish as It means ESI have been given the green light and want to shout It from the roof tops. If ESI were given the chop they would not be wanting It out there.

The Department treats information provided to it as part of any competitive grant program as confidential and takes all reasonable steps to maintain the confidentiality of the material however we are subject to the FOI Act.


Anyone is entitled to make an FOI request and the Department will be required to assess that request for information.There are a number of available exemptions under the FOI act:
•Section 30: internal working documents
•Section 34: documents relating to trade secrets
•Section 35: documents containing material obtained in confidence
•Section 36: disclosure contrary to public interest


The Department is not able to make any commitments, but notes these exemptions. The Departments strongly recommends that the proponent independently review disclosure according to law.
