i wouldn’t half mind understanding how you make this leap. The other favourite refrain when people tried to raise social issues was that the people doing so were mentally ill. The suffragettes were seen that way. China quite likes that approach and Russia also had a history of that.

it’s also doing another favourite - labelling. Rather than debate the topic and explore ideas it seems so much easier to drag out a label.

sure. But that won’t stop people talking about it unless you think our government should go the way of other tyrannical governments and shut down discussion that challenges existing orthodoxy

I wouldn’t bother wasting your time or energy trying to understand these people.

They’re the same ones who blamed the Muslims in Christchurch after Brenton Tarrant murdered them. They’re so far removed from reality it’s impossible to understand them.
