I and many others is this as historic and unprecedented that a former president tried to hold onto power despite losing a fair democratic election. God knows how close Trump came to destroying democracy.

The most important part of holding Trump accountable for his crimes is to set a precedent that would prevent any future president from holding onto power after losing an election as Trump tried to do.
