I was under the impression trump took documents after the election. Im not sure if it is just a technicality but if he took them when they were leaving but bidin had been sworn in id imagine they could still ping him for it.
Honestly, I think your bigger issue is what was in those documents. Its been reported they contained allied millitary secrets. If trump doesnt get any disciplinary action taken against him and wins the presidency again i think other countries might start asking questions. It could make global politics even harder for the USA and im just not sure the people in power would risk that. Its a lot of conjecture but just how i see it all from Australia.
