So what? Under Shorten’s plan you won’t get the $30 gift anymore in scenario 1.

You only add the extra $30 income because you got a $30 tax credit. If you don’t get the $30 tax credit you most likely won’t have to declare the $30 income.

You will need to wait until they work it out with the tax dept as to how it is recorded on your tax return.
