I have just learned that my friend, and a friend to many on these boards, Wombat777 passed away last night. We had been in semi regular contact for these past few years and I sent him a text last week to check in with him. Unfortunately I did not get a reply.
(I received permission from his nephew to share this news)

@wombat777 was one of the most respected and loved posters on HC.
He selflessly shared data and information on these boards to the benefit of many.
I particularly enjoyed and respected his peer analysis and shareholder breakdowns.
He was a true engineer in heart, mind and thought.

It's fair to say he assisted many with analysis and education on varying companies and markets.
I am sure he gave more than a few investors the energy to research and invest in different companies, me included.
