Following on from a recent thread on here.
Temperatures on the surface of Venus reach an astounding 470 degrees Celsius. @jopo has made the startling claim that greenhouse gases- contrary to the consensus of the entire scientific community- actually cool atmospheres, rather than warming them.
In light of the situation on Venus, how might these two viewpoints be reconciled?
