Farsight - In all the years I have been following the amount of money that has gone into puts and calls each day I have never seen the percentage of Calls as low as it was in the sell-off earlier this month. The market makers would certainly have a vested interest in the market going up so that all those puts expire worthless. The amount of money in open positiions in calls would be far lower.
