It is not the restructure that is the problem.. Some form of seperation was always going to happen, sooner or later.. But, that can be done in a manner and time frame that enhances our investment.. ie float a separate wholesale company, float Foxtel, Sensis or Chinese companies whereby thesy are distributed in specie on a 1 for 1 basis to existing shareholders.. There are many very good options..
However, the draconian manner in which Conroy has attempted to do this, with a whopping big stick, is the problem.. He does not give a flying S**T about Telstra's competitors or about competition, because everything he has threatened TLS with is anti-competitive.. All he is interested in is taking Telstra out of the game so that they will not compete against the NBN and off load assets to Rudd.Com under a fair value.. He knows that the NBN will never get of the ground without Telstra..
This is where Conroy's approach is wrong.. It is wrong in commercial reality and fairness, as he has underestimated the will of the people..
