Entry into any copper investment is better timed with lower points on the copper pricing cycle. When that is will always be debated. My second factor in evaluation of mining stocks is great management. Again it will always be personal but in my view Andrew Cole has done a great job over many years building value. OZL also had built a large resource reserve across several sites - all of which could be extracted at the lower quartile of cost internationally and able to compete internationally and be profitable with swings in copper prices. ... an investment in OZL will be hard to replicate!

Combined with BHP's existing SA copper BHP has got a bargain!

I agree with Clark888 comment above it is hard to see value in copper plays mentioned.

    Some will look to BHP.

I will be interested in where Andrew Cole goes.

In terms of current mining plays I am looking to rare earths with good management, large resource and clay based (not hard ore) - current price is depressed but there is new mine potential with probable multi year increasing product demand & pricing.

    All IMO DYOR.

    Good luck
