Ok, I’ll have a crack. This is purely a theory only that is plausible and fits with the announcements.
Perhaps they were in serious advanced talks with a potential major distributor but couldn’t quite get agreement on points that were key. So they started or re-started negotiations with 1 or more other parties to ensure that they would have a good deal on commercial terms.
This is potentially their most important market because it will be prescription medicine at a higher price. The US population is 10x ours as well. Given that they really only need the deal done before December that seems fair enough. They will proceed with 1 partner for the US which will be announced prior to FDA approval.
