Talking to medicos it seems rushing in for Pfizer may not be as good as initially thought. Does Moderna have it over Pfizer ????? Papers are starting to roll out giving up to 5% more effectiveness for Moderna. Also Research published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the efficacy of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine against hospitalization fell from 91% to 77% after a four-month period following the second shot. The Moderna vaccine showed no decline over the same period. So better start lining up for those boosters already prior to the increased chat of opening up borders. Seems that medico I discussed this with a 3 months ago may have been on the right track in advising to hang off for a while.

Nevertheless, the vaccinated patients tended to be older people — the Pfizer cohort had a median age of 68 — and it was unclear whether vaccine effectiveness had changed much in younger age groups. Previous studies have shown lower levels of protection in older people.
