@pintohoo; it was interesting to watch Angus Taylor responding to David Speers on The ABC's Insiders program today. His 'performance' was noticeably different from his earlier appearances on Insiders.

When responding Taylor spoke rapidly and forcefully without breaks or pauses, not allowing Speers to rudely interrupt as is his standard practice. He didn't provide much substance and most of his commentary was just Coalition Propaganda 101, but Taylor made sure that's all Speers was going to get from him.

Dutton's decision to cast slurs at / Albanese over alleged criminal behaviour by a detainee released by Andrew Giles following the High Court's bombshell ruling on indefinite incarceration has blown up in his face. Even Angus Taylor refused the opportunity provided by Speers to speak in Dutton's defence, thereby squibbing the unholy brawl that the Coalition provoked.

It's incidents like that which prompt the Coalition to sack their leaders. Taylor's reticence may be an early sign that Dutton's time as Opposition Leader may be coming to an end.
