These days childcare is considered an essential service.
It's mostly private and risked sinking due to lack of income.
They have been thrown a lifeline.
If they all went broke now someone would need to buy them at bargain basement prices and open up again.
Or make them publicly owned.
Bought for peanuts but expensive to run when they started up again.
The economic shutdown is supposed to be temporary with maybe a 10 year recovery til the next crisis comes.
When the worst is over, then the over leveraged ones can go broke and be snapped up at a later date.
Maybe more consolidation.
