    I have not been following this thread, therefore it is possible that what I intend to say to have already been said before.

    First, it seems that there was a realization by both sides that the Palestine question had no political solution and therefore that for the dispute to be solved required one side to administer a fatal blow to the other.

    Second, that the Palestinians were being marginalized as shown by the change in the attitude of some Arabe nations towards Israel and, therefore, that something drastic had to be done by them in order to revive the Palestinian question at the global level.

    Third, that Esrael must be believing that they have now an opportunity to administer the said fatal blow.
