This infrastructure cycle has legs!
The current infrastructure evolution in NSW enables infill development and a liveability catch up in Sydney in particular.
Success begets success and imo the trend to urbanisation will continue. Currently just under 1 in 2 Australians live in Sydney and Melbourne. Without a policy to populate regional south-east Australia, population growth will put those two cities under pressure.
By the mid 20's when Badgerys Creek Airport is commissioned there will no doubt be a Metro Rapid Rail Link to the CBD, probably via Parramatta and the new Aerotropolis the size of Adelaide will be underway around the new airport precinct.
At this time, the case for a Melbourne Sydney VFT funded by value capture associated with developing 8 new regional smart cities along the route will be apparent imo. Nobody on that route need be more than an hour's train travel to either Sydney or Melbourne.
From O'Farrell, to Baird and now to Berejiklian, NSW has clear vision. The future for NSW seems increasingly exciting imo.
