Peter Coleman warned, a couple of years ago, that gas may become the new pariah after coal and it seems that it is the new target. As a holder I've been extremely disappointed at Woodside's response to going green, far too little and seemingly a token effort to keep critics quiet rather than a genuine effort to transform. Splitting methane cheaply into two products, hydrogen and graphite, utilising a process invented and developed by a WA company and presently undergoing commercial development would seem to be the obvious fit for Woodside. Aware of the technology, but making no public acknowledgement or commitment is puzzling. Maybe we (and they) need to wait until the commercial plant has been commissioned at the end of the year.
