Some share price moves to keep an eye on in the market:
LOUISIANA PETROLEUM (LOU) up 5.5c to 37c: Joined the lists on
Friday. Issue price was 20c. The company has acquired a production
portfolio of petroleum assets in the Caddo Pine Island Field in northern
Louisiana, USA. The field was discovered in 1905 and more than 16,000
wells have been drilled there, producing 400 million barrels of oil.
FORTESCUE METALS (FMG) up 15c to $2.70: Announced after the
close on Friday that it had lifted its Cloud Break and Christmas Creek
resource estimates to takes total resources to 2.12 billion tonnes.
NEW HOPE (NHC) up 5.5c to $1.33: Today announced a 160 per cent
rise in net profit for the 10 months to May, reflecting higher export
coal prices.
AUSTRALIAN WORLDWIDE EXPLORATION (AWE) down 9.5c to $1.87:
Origin Energy, operator of the BassGas Project, today warned significant
additional rectification work would be required at both the onshore
plant and offshore platform. Origin was down 2c to $7.22.
RINKER (RIN) up 70c to $14.53: New record high follows news of a
62 per cent rise in net profit to $US181 million in the June quarter.
DEEP YELLOW (DYL) up 2.5c to 14.5c: Has agreed to acquire two
uranium properties from Paladin Resources and A1 Minerals. Deep Yellow
has also sold its interest in the Mikado goldmining lease, making it a
fully focused uranium player. A1 Minerals was up 3c to 26c.
CARTER HOLT (CHY) up 14c to $2.25: Follows Friday evening
announcement that Carter Holt had agreed to sell 94,600 hectares of
forest for a total of $NZ441 million. Carter Holt is scheduled to
announce its interim results later this week.
SOMNOMED (SOM) down 5c to 29c: Reacting to a two-day surge of
13c. Somnomed said on Friday that it had been granted approval by the
FDA to market and sell its snoring and sleep apnoea product in the US.
VENTRACOR (VCR) up 7.5c to $1.50: Went as high as $1.54 after
announcing the first US implant of its heart assist device.
GLOBAL APPROACH (GLO) up 1c to 9c: Today said its EBITDA loss
for the year would be better than expected at around $60,000.
