Well they have patents and a commercial product has been launched. So time will tell. Although there seems to be extensive research and historical data for the operation of their battery. Though yes it is quite new and at this stage unproven at scale.

My direction is that the the backing it has demonstrates to me some very serious and focused minds are involved and then as it moves through commercialisation, where do people see the Redflow battery's competitive edge in comparison to this battery.

It has similar abilities and focus points such as 100% depth of discharge, and also being fire retardant. The materials are from the same base. Therefore I'm asking what you all think around two different ways to use these materials in a battery, and the likelihood of one outperforming and outlasting the other.

One important factor in my view is in what seems to be the Gelion battery's ability to be manufactured faster and more efficiently, and therefore quickly scale up and reduce costs, as opposed to Redflow. Yes, right now not commercially and operationally fully proven, but once it is, does it displace Redflow batteries in market share?
