There are 3 main aspects to my last sentence:

1. Financial report; audited by an independent top 3 tier-accountant firm;

2. Legal report; audited by an independent top 3 tier-law firm.

3. Performance report (i.e the chip and the management): prepared by the BOD.

Any collusion or fraud act would require a corporation of 3 different bodies. The salaries of these people are generally very high, to corrupt them, one must pay a substantially high amount of money to all parties.

Yes, you can argue that our Australian system is imperfect, however we are second to none. We have a system of checks and balances, at various points in time.

20 years ago, there were many fraud cases involving inside- trading. The laws are now very strict and highly regulated. Directors are now personally liable for their actions and inactions.

We have to trust our system. Unless, and until you can come up with a better one.
