At best, this shows an extremely concerning lack of cultural awareness on Appen's part when it comes to how a corporation needs to operate in the US if it wants avoid unwanted negative attention.
Hopefully they can keep a tighter grip on their internal processes in future. Its a bad indicator of middle and upper management's ability to keep the ship on course.
